A pending source check does not change or erase a previously verified value. Older observations, overdue checks, missing verification and inactive trackers remain identified here; an unavailable value is never estimated. Year-over-year inflation and M2 changes, dollar percentage changes and payroll differences are calculated by Silver Dominion. GDP rates are published BEA estimates; the primary rate is quarterly annualized and the supporting rate is year over year. Dollar index levels use January 2006 = 100 and are not ICE DXY. Payroll changes carry preliminary labels where applicable. BLS.gov cannot vouch for the data or analyses derived from these data after the data have been retrieved from BLS.gov. Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Live Gold, Silver & Global Market Dashboard show?
The dashboard combines live gold and silver prices with major global markets, including stocks, commodities, precious metals ETFs, mining companies, currencies and cryptocurrencies. It provides a quick overview of how precious metals are trading relative to the broader financial market.
Are gold and silver prices updated live?
Gold and silver prices are updated automatically using market data feeds. Update frequency and possible delays can vary depending on the underlying data source and market.
Why compare gold and silver with global markets?
Gold and silver can be influenced by movements in currencies, interest rates, equities, commodities and broader investor sentiment. Following several markets together can make it easier to understand the environment in which precious metals are trading.
What is the Gold/Silver Ratio?
The Gold/Silver Ratio shows how many ounces of silver are required to equal the value of one ounce of gold. A rising ratio generally means gold is outperforming silver, while a falling ratio generally means silver is outperforming gold.
Is the spot price the same as the price of physical gold or silver?
No. Spot prices are market benchmarks. Physical coins and bars normally trade above spot because of dealer premiums, fabrication costs, availability and other market factors.
When are gold and silver markets open?
Precious metals trade across several major global market centers, including Asia, London and New York. Electronic trading means gold and silver can trade for much of the working week, although liquidity and trading activity vary throughout the day.
