Track Global Gold & Silver Inventories
The Gold & Silver Inventory Tracker provides direct access to official precious metals inventory reports from CME Group, LBMA, and the Shanghai Futures Exchange.
Visitors can use these original publications to review COMEX registered and eligible stocks, London vault holdings, and Shanghai warehouse-warrant data. Silver Dominion does not copy, store, or maintain the underlying inventory figures.
Keeping the data on the publishers’ own websites allows visitors to verify each figure alongside its original definitions, reporting date, units, notes, and later revisions.
Inventory reports can provide useful context when considered alongside the Gold Price, Silver Price, investment demand, industrial demand, mine production, and broader physical-market conditions.
Why Gold and Silver Inventories Matter
Gold and silver inventories show how much metal is held within particular exchange, warehouse, and vaulting systems.
Movements in these holdings may reflect deliveries, withdrawals, transfers between inventory categories, investor activity, industrial consumption, regional demand, and other market conditions.
No single inventory report represents the entire global supply of gold or silver. COMEX, London, and Shanghai cover different parts of the precious metals market and use different reporting structures.
These figures should therefore be viewed as separate indicators rather than combined into a single worldwide inventory total.
Understanding COMEX Inventories
COMEX inventory reports cover metal held in approved depositories and distinguish between Registered and Eligible stocks.
Registered inventory consists of metal that meets applicable exchange requirements and has a warrant issued against it. This makes it available for delivery against futures contracts.
Eligible inventory also meets applicable exchange specifications but does not currently have a warrant issued. Eligible metal is not automatically available for delivery, although its owner may choose to warrant it when the relevant requirements are met.
Registered and Eligible are categories within the COMEX depository system. They do not represent all gold or silver held in the United States.
The buttons in the tracker lead directly to the official CME Group Gold Stocks and Silver Stocks reports.
Understanding London Vault Holdings
London is one of the world’s most important centres for the wholesale bullion market.
LBMA publishes aggregate monthly data for gold and silver held in participating London vaults. The published gold total also includes gold held at the Bank of England.
London vault holdings are not directly equivalent to COMEX stocks. LBMA reports aggregate vault holdings, while COMEX reports metal within its approved depository system and separates Registered from Eligible inventory.
The tracker links directly to the official LBMA London Vault Data page, where visitors can review the latest publication and the source’s explanatory notes.
Understanding Shanghai Inventories
The Shanghai Futures Exchange publishes official warehouse-warrant information for gold and silver.
Warehouse-warrant figures represent metal covered by the exchange’s reporting system. They should not be treated as directly equivalent to COMEX Registered or Eligible stocks, or to aggregate London vault holdings.
Visitors can use the SHFE link to select the relevant reporting date and metal on the exchange’s official Daily Warrant page.
Because publication schedules, holidays, and reporting conventions differ between markets, always check the date shown by the original source before comparing figures.
Why Silver Dominion Uses Official Sources
Silver Dominion sends visitors directly to the original inventory publications rather than reproducing and maintaining third-party exchange and vault datasets.
This approach keeps the figures connected to the publisher’s current report, methodology, units, corrections, and applicable terms.
The tool does not scrape, automatically download, cache, transform, calculate from, or maintain a historical database of CME Group, LBMA, or SHFE inventory figures.
Silver Dominion is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by CME Group, COMEX, LBMA, or SHFE. Third-party terms, links, and publication availability may change.
Inventories and Physical Supply
Inventory movements represent only one part of the physical precious metals market.
Mine production, recycling, investment demand, central-bank activity, industrial consumption, refining, and movements between exchanges, vaults, investment products, manufacturers, and private holdings can all affect available supply.
Annual market flows can be explored through Gold & Silver Supply and Demand.
Longer-term mining capacity and geological availability are covered by Gold & Silver Production and Reserves.
Regional precious metals price sources for China and India can be accessed through Gold & Silver Prices in China and India.
Futures-market activity and trader positioning can be followed through the Gold & Silver COT & Positioning Tracker.
Falling inventories do not automatically mean that gold or silver prices will rise. Similarly, rising inventories do not necessarily imply lower prices.
Inventory reports are most useful when considered alongside prices, physical demand, mine supply, recycling, investment flows, futures positioning, currencies, and broader monetary conditions.

Gold & Silver Inventory FAQ
What does the Gold & Silver Inventory Tracker show?
The tool provides direct links to official gold and silver inventory publications for COMEX, London, and Shanghai.
What is COMEX Registered inventory?
Registered inventory is metal held in a COMEX-approved depository that meets the relevant exchange requirements and has a warrant issued against it.
This makes the metal available for delivery against futures contracts.
What is the difference between Registered and Eligible metal?
Both categories meet applicable COMEX specifications.
Registered metal has a warrant issued, while Eligible metal does not currently have a warrant. Eligible inventory should therefore not automatically be treated as available for delivery.
What are LBMA London vault holdings?
LBMA publishes aggregate monthly data for gold and silver held in participating London vaults.
These holdings are different from COMEX inventory categories and should not be compared without considering the definitions used by each publisher.
What are SHFE warehouse warrants?
SHFE warehouse-warrant reports cover metal represented by warrants within the exchange’s reporting system.
They provide information about Shanghai exchange inventories but are not directly equivalent to COMEX or London vault holdings.
Does falling inventory mean that gold or silver prices will rise?
Not necessarily. Inventory movements alone do not determine price direction.
Prices are also influenced by investment flows, currencies, interest rates, industrial demand, mine supply, recycling, futures positioning, liquidity, and wider economic conditions.
How often are the reports updated?
The publication schedule depends on the source. CME Group reports are generally published more frequently, LBMA vault data is published monthly, and SHFE follows its own exchange reporting calendar.
Always verify the latest date directly on the publisher’s website.
